The European Coalition for Just and Effective Drug Policies (ENCOD)
ENCOD is a pan-European network of 140 NGO's and individual experts involved in the drug issue.
ENCOD represents the European section of an International Coalition of more than 200 NGOs worldwide that have adhered to a "Manifesto for Just and Effective Drug Policies" and consists of organisations of cannabis and other drug users, researchers, health workers as well as companies. The ENCOD goal is obtaining more transparency and democracy in the drug policy-making process.
One of ENCOD believes is that drug control policies should be subordinated to guiding principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It's task is to facilitate an effective information exchange between a network of organisations that defend the interests of individuals disadvantaged in confronting the effects of the drug trade.
ENCOD publishes a monthly bulletin containing an actual comment on the European Union's drug policy and news on ENCOD's activities. The monthly bulletin is received directly by members of ENCOD or it can be read on ENCOD site one month after it has been published.
